Like Father, Like Son

Now, you think Lyle has a big appetite? You should just see our son. He eats & eats & when he's done eating he demands to be in the kitchen so he can watch us open the fridge & cupboards. We're not complaining because we need to fatten up this little boy.

Yesterday we got Ryan's birth certificate & our adoption certificate. I forgot that his passport takes 7 working days to arrive, so that will take us into the end of next week or early the following week. The birth & adoption certs are in Russian, but the passport will be in English.

The three of us went for long walk after Ryan's nap (& a snack). It started out rainy in the morning, but by the time we headed out Lyle & I didn't need jackets. Ryan, of course, was wearing 3 layers on top & a hat (lest the "Hat Police" stop us). We did buy him some more short-sleeved shirts to wear in the apartment. The heating here is controlled by the goverment & they likely won't be turning it off before we leave.
We're trying to keep Ryan on his schedule that the BH provided, but we're going to slowly change much of his diet. One thing that's crazy is they say he drinks something called "Kissel". This is Kool Aid, by the way. We fed him chicken, peas, carrots & mashed potatoes for dinner. He couldn't get enough & that's when he wanted me to carry him into the kitchen for more.

"your son" isn't that wonderful to say. I so enjoy reading about your days. Kim wanted me to pass on that she can't wait for you guys to get back so she can introduce "chicken nuggets" to Ryan. Give Ryan a kiss and a hug from me.

Yeah!!! He's just adorable. Enjoy your last days in KO and Ryan's first home life. It must be so exhilirating to see Ryan's birth certificate with your names as parents.
