We're getting on a plane WHEN???

This is going to be a quick update, folks. We found out on Friday, Feb 6 at about 10:00 in the morning, that we're expected to be in Kazakhstan on Wednesday, Feb 11. After some utter chaos, we found ourselves with airline tickets & a whole bunch of Euro bills (thank God we work for banks). We did manage to ask for permission to arrive on Thursday the 12th instead. Otherwise I'm sure we would have had to jump on a plane during our Friday lunch hour at work.

Our Visas didn't even have the chance to be FedEx'd to Ottawa. Instead they'll be issued in the airport upon our arrival in Kaz. I told Lyle we're going to be legends since our agency hasn't seen something quite like this before.

So.......the next time we'll write will likely be in Kaz. We land in Almaty first, but we're uncertain what day we'll fly into Kyzylorda, where our baby house is located.

Until then.

Sending you the very best wishes from Austin, Texas!! I was in Kaz last spring to adopt my son and with good luck, will return next year to enlarge my family. It's a "surreal" journey---remember that word for you will no doubt use it many times. My best advice, take: lots of DVDs and a DVD player, personal medicine and a willingness to explore the adventures of Kaz. I normally would advise you to buy a good surge protector for your DVD player, but you can buy one there. All the best, Susan
